“It was Canada from the Atlantic to the Pacific on parade," ... "I thought then that in those few minutes, I witnessed the birth of a nation.”

'Portraits of an Icon' tells an exceptional Canadian story. Rich with intrigue, compelling and profoundly visual, it encompasses art, personalities and iconic history.
The photographs at its core capture and interpret the many facets of the monument and site, from the crater scarred battlefields, to the twin towers acknowledging the fraternal efforts of Canada and France, to the twenty beautifully sculpted figures surrounding and ascending the monument.
Accompanying the Ketcheson images is an engaging selection of archival photographs and information panels illustrating the history of the monument, from its design and construction to the restoration completed in 2007.
